Bios

Josh Aller
Founder, CEO

Mr. Aller has 25 years of software development and startup experience working in the fields of computer graphics, visual effects, scientific visualization, simulation and engineering visualization, augmented reality and photogrammetry. Prior roles Mr. Aller has performed include CTO of VaultLab (email security), Chief Photogrammetrist for Immersive Media (street level mapping), Senior Engineer and Researcher for Alias|Wavefront (makers of Maya visual F/X software), and Consulting Developer for companies such as Zaxwerks (3D Software), Image Savant (movie visual F/X) and FEM Engineering (Manufacturing Simulation).


P. Mark Anderson
CTO

Mr. Anderson is a web and mobile software engineer with 13 years of experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Mr. Anderson has developed software for Sun Microsystems, VegBank.org at University of California, BioIQ, and ThinkPocket. He has authored several iPhone and open source applications. Mark enjoys working with both artists and developers and occupies his spare time with mountain biking and disc golf.


Steve Chaney
UX Designer

Mr. Chaney has 15 years of experience in product design, user experience design, and project management in a variety of industries ranging from telecommunications equipment to athletic footwear. He holds an MBA in Marketing and Master of Industrial Design. Prior roles include program manager at Alcatel-Lucent and industrial designer at FUSE product development. Former clients include T-mobile, AT&T, Globalstar, Aeris Communications, Nike, Patagonia, and Brunton. He also is currently adjunct faculty at the Art Institute of Portland in both the Industrial Design and the Design Management departments.


Thomas Burke
3DAR Support Engineer

Before coming to Spot Metrix, Mr. Burke worked as a cartographer and geographic information systems developer for Columbia Land Trust and other small organizations. His passion for cartography and user experience sparked his interest in augmented reality which led him to Spot Metrix. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning from Virginia Tech and spends his free time playing music, woodworking, and cycling.


Tyler Nugent
Senior Software Engineer

Mr. Nugent brings over 8 years of programming and architectural design experience to Spot Metrix. As Services Team Lead for Thetus Corporation, he brought his talents to developing semantic technology solutions, server side architecture, customer facing API design, and high-availability enterprise solutions. Tyler graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science with a minor in Mathematics. In his spare time, Tyler enjoys bicycling and is a collector of short-release silk screen concert prints.


Chris Steinbacher
Designer

Chris began creating web sites and various types of graphics while he was in grade school. He quickly developed an interest in the art of design, and began designing and creating interactive web content for clients by his freshmen year of high school. Soon after Chris graduated high school he was hired on to Burkson Technologies as a 3d Modeler and Graphics Designer. After relocating to Portland Chris’s interested in mobile technologies and design brought him to Spot Metrix. Chris likes to spend his free time surfing, skateboarding, and camping.
